The Red Sea Max 250 is a fully featured, 65 gallon plug and play reef system. It makes reef-keeping easier than ever before by combining the lighting, filtration, and circulation needed to maintain a healthy coral community in an elegant aquarium. This sleek system holds a complete, hidden filtration center including 2-stage mechanical filter sponges, highly porous ceramic biological filter media, activated carbon for chemical filtration, and a professional turbo protein skimmer driven by 320 gph pump. Other features of the water treatment system are the removable inlet filter comb with and adjustable shutter (for surface skimming), a thermostat-controlled heater, twin circulation pumps, and a compartment to accommodate a chiller pump. Since lighting plays a vital role in reef health, the complete lighting includes 3 - 39 watt 10000k T5 and 3 - 39 watt 460 nm actinic lighting with an electronic ballast. The polished aluminum reflector helps to redirect light back into the aquarium. Blue LED moon lights allow for night time viewing and a really cool blue glow. The hood is fan cooled for extended life, and a highly transparent, polished lens protects the bulbs . The hood has an opening to access the skimmer for maintenance, but is also has a front access panel, or the entire hood can be raised and secured at an angle for easy access to the whole aquarium. The hood also contains a lighting control panel with a 24 hour programmable timer to customize the look and light periods for your reef.
