The polyps are darker reddish-pink in color. Cyphastrea Coral is not collected often and has only been gaining in popularity among hobbyists in recent years as fragging and propagation has advanced the reef hobby. It is an encrusting coral with eyes that are almost always a contrasting color from the rest of the colony. It can tolerate a wide range of conditions but appears to do best under moderate light and flow.
