Pseudoplexaura sp Porous Sea Rod
The Porous Sea Rod ( Pseudoplexaura sp. ) is a thick-branched but flexible Caribbean gorgonian. It can grow very large in the wild and can be easily propogated in home aquariums. The fingers of the Porous Sea Rod ( Pseudoplexaura sp. ) are thinner and more branched than the Corky Seafinger ( Briareum asbestinum ). It is colored light purple to light brown and is covered in fine polyps. These gorgonians are photosynthetic and need moderate to high light, but they are also filter feeders and will benefit from and grow more rapidly with supplemental feedings of foods like brine shrimp, Cyclopeeze and similar items. They also need moderate to high flow. The Porous Sea Rod poses no direct threat to other corals, but it can spread and grow rapidly if well-fed and in proper conditions. Do not place close to other nonaggressive corals or invertebrates that may become overgrown by this gorgonian. This is a Restricted item and is not covered by our Arrive Alive 5 Day Guarantee.
